Site Evaluation Reflection
On my first site evaluation, I presented a patient with decubitus ulcers and a journal article regarding the increased mortality in surgical patients with decubitus ulcers. I was unsure of how to do differentials being that the diagnosis was already present, however, I was advised to consider what else it could be or what other diagnoses we may have missed. On my second site evaluation, I presented a patient being worked up for acute pancreatitis. I was advised to go deeper with my physical exam and my differentials. I feel that my strength is history taking, however, I need work when it comes time to what physical exam maneuvers to include. Additionally, I need to really go deeper with my differentials and even mention ones that are unlikely, just to rule them out. In regards to my flashcards, I struggled during the first site visit, however, I think I was very fluent for my flashcards in my second site visit.
